Citation building for US businesses — the deepest market there is.

The United States is the only market that supports a thousand-listing footprint for one business. National platforms, four data aggregators that feed hundreds of downstream sites, then a state, city and chamber layer under all of it. We build it by hand.

Short answer

In the United States we build from 25 up to 1,000 local citations for a single business location. That ceiling is real rather than a package number: the US has a national directory layer, data aggregators whose records propagate downstream, a state and city directory layer, and a dense niche layer for most industries. Every listing is filed manually under your own accounts, and you get the live URL for each one.

Why United States tops out at 1,000.

The deepest directory ecosystem in the world — national platforms, data aggregators, state and city directories, plus a dense niche layer for most industries.

No other country comes close. The US is the only market where the 500+ tier is deliverable to a real, live standard, and where a build can be extended to 1,000 listings by quote for a business that has already saturated the obvious platforms.

If you order above that ceiling we tell you before taking payment and move you to the tier that fits, or split the build across your other locations. Ask about your build.

Which packages we can deliver in United States.

Same prices everywhere. What changes is which tiers have enough real US directories behind them — so the ones we cannot fill here are marked, not quietly sold.

What’s different about building citations in United States.

The process is the same everywhere — audit, benchmark, clean, submit, report. These are the US specifics that decide whether a submission goes live or sits pending.

The aggregator layer is the multiplier

Foursquare, Data Axle and Acxiom don't just hold a listing — their records get republished across downstream directories, apps and in-car navigation. A wrong record at that layer reappears no matter how many individual directories you correct, which is why we fix the aggregators before building anything new.

State, city and chamber directories

Below the national platforms sits a layer that exists nowhere else at this scale: state business directories, city and metro guides, and local chambers of commerce. These carry genuine regional relevance for the town you actually serve, and they are the bulk of what a 300+ US build adds over a 200 build.

Suite numbers and USPS formatting

Google reads '123 Main St Ste 4' and '123 Main Street, Suite 4' as two candidate entities. We fix one USPS-standardised format for your address, including how the suite is written, and file every submission against it so the entity resolves to one business.

Service area businesses

US directories are inconsistent about businesses with no storefront. We use the subset that accepts a service area without publishing a street address, and set address suppression correctly on each — rather than publishing your home address across a thousand sites.

Building somewhere else?

Each market has its own ceiling, its own directories and its own verification quirks.

Citation building in United States — FAQ.

The US-specific questions. The general ones — what a citation is, how long results take — are answered on the main service page.

How many citations can you build for a US business?

From 25 up to 1,000 for one location. The 500+ tier and the 1,000-listing extension are only offered in the United States, because it is the only market with enough legitimate directories to fill them. Above 500 we quote by hand after auditing what you already have, so you are not paying to rebuild listings that exist.

Do you cover my state and city, or just national directories?

Both. Every package starts with the national platforms and the data aggregators, then adds the state, metro and city directories for where you actually trade, plus your local chamber of commerce where it accepts listings. The bigger the package, the deeper that regional layer goes.

What about the data aggregators — Foursquare, Data Axle, Acxiom?

They're included, and we handle them first. Aggregator records propagate to downstream directories and mapping apps, so an outdated record there keeps overwriting your corrections elsewhere. Changes at that layer take 60–90 days to fully propagate, which is why we submit them at the start of a build rather than the end.

Is US citation building different from other countries?

Mainly in depth. The process is the same — audit, benchmark, clean, submit, report — but the US has more legitimate directories than any other market, an aggregator layer that multiplies each correction, and a state and city tier that has no equivalent in the UK, Canada or Australia. That is why the ceiling is 1,000 here and roughly 300 there.
